The NUWEN Health & Food team will be present from the 3rd to 5th of December in Paris, Parc des Expositions de Villepinte for the FIE (Food ingredients Europe) to present its range of marine ingredients including Algalithe (marine calcium) and their features.
Food ingredients Europe is Europe’s largest agri-food fair. This is an opportunity for additive and ingredient professionals to showcase their new and exclusives products to improve organoleptic, nutritional and food preservation characteristics among others.
Consumers are reducing their consumption of additives and prefer to consume natural ingredients. The health benefits of algae are clearly established due to their high levels of minerals and fibre. The NUWEN Health & Food team will therefore present for this edition a natural, clean-label and healthy alternative to the raising agents.
A “Madeleine de la mer” has been developed with two of our products: Algalithe (fossilized red algae, Phymatolithon calcareum) and sea lettuce to highlight the functionality of Algalithe. Composed of about 80% calcium carbonates without flavour, this fossilized algae replaces leavening agents such as sodium bicarbonates (E500) or potassium (E501). Sea lettuce brings an iodine aromatic note.
Finally, the use of Algalithe in this madeleine provides 19% of the recommended daily calcium intake (European Regulation No. 169/2011).
